Why us?
Taekwondo is a lifelong practice, built through time, discipline, and experience.
At Jiho Choi Taekwondo, our role is to guide that practice with integrity and consistency, honoring the tradition that has shaped our school since 1981 while welcoming students of all ages and backgrounds.
Our Approach
At Jiho Choi Taekwondo Institute, Taekwondo is taught as a complete, long-term practice — one that develops the body, sharpens the mind, and builds character over time. Our approach emphasizes thoughtful instruction, proper technique, and steady progression, allowing students to grow with confidence and purpose.
Classes are intentionally structured and paced to support deep learning. We invest time in fundamentals because strong foundations lead to meaningful progress. Students are encouraged to focus, ask questions, and refine their skills rather than rush through material.
Rooted in tradition while responsive to modern practice, our instruction reflects both the history of Taekwondo and its continued evolution as a global sport.
Our Dojang
Our dojang is a respectful, focused, and welcoming environment where students are challenged and supported at every stage of their journey. Our culture is grounded in courtesy, integrity, self-control, respect, and indomitable spirit — values that guide how students train, interact, and grow both on and off the mat.
Students train alongside peers in a setting that values effort, consistency, and personal growth. Instructors provide clear guidance and individualized attention, fostering an atmosphere where students feel encouraged to improve while remaining accountable to high standards.
We believe that a strong dojang culture helps students develop confidence, resilience, and leadership skills that extend far beyond training.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum follows standards established by Kukkiwon, the World Headquarters for Taekwondo, and reflects the full scope of traditional training. Instruction includes philosophy, meditation, forms (poomsae), sparring, breaking, flexibility, leadership development, and overall fitness.
While grounded in tradition, our training also reflects the modern evolution of the sport. Through Grand Master Choi’s active involvement with both Kukkiwon and the World Taekwondo Federation, our instructors remain current with competition standards, techniques, and rules.
Our Instructors
Jiho Choi Taekwondo Institute is a family-owned and operated school shaped by generations of practice, teaching, and deep respect for the art of Taekwondo. From its founding, the school has been guided by a commitment to lineage, thoughtful instruction, and an understanding that meaningful training takes time. As a family-run dojang, we take a personal approach to both teaching and community, creating an environment where students are known, supported, and guided with intention throughout their journey.
